Josu Ortiz is a music composer, arranger and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He started music when he was 5 years old singing with a choir in his native country, Venezuela. He studied with the most notorious jazz teacher in Caracas, called Gerry Weil. He later decided to study at Berklee College of Music, where he earned a Dual Major Degree in Composition and Contemporary Writing and Production.
He has collaborated with big names in the industry, such as Geoff Zanelli, Elik Alvarez and Michael Levine. He has credits in works, such as The First Lady, Freelance, The Hill and Leo. His music can be heard in shows, such as NBC Universal’s 100 Dias Para Enamorarnos and ABC’s Biography: WWE Legends. Most recently, he received a commission by the 1st Division Band of the United States Marines to arrange a piece they performed and recorded by Venezuelan composer Simon Diaz
